Learning Esperanto

The Esperanto Association of St. Louis is happy to help newcomers learn the language.  We meet at the University City Public Library at 6701 Delmar on the third Sunday of each month (well, most months), starting at 1:30 p.m.  For more information: rglossop@mindspring.com or jerrygjohnson@mindspring.com.  We also have a monthly conversation group.

Many Esperantists have learned the language on their own, through books such as "Teach Yourself Esperanto" or book-and-tape sets such as "Jen Nia Mondo".  These materials were created for English speakers, and they can be ordered through Esperanto-USA.  Members of our club have also found these items at local bookstores such as The Library Limited in Clayton.

If a correspondence course is more to your liking, there is a traditional ten-lesson course available through Esperanto-USA

Feeling adventurous?  You can travel far away and experience total immersion in Esperanto by signing up for one of the summer courses.  For more information, check out their website at: NASK.

Here is another page that offers a list of ways to learn Esperanto.
